He was a training officer with the Office of Financial Assistance in the Department of Education for six years before becoming a financial consultant. Since 1985, Martin, who has a master's degree from the University of South Carolina, has developed a reputation for helping schools facing tough situations involving both the Office of Student Financial Assistance and the Office of Inspector General.  Martin has also worked as an expert witness in cases brought against schools by the government. He prefers to work with schools in a "preventative mode" so that schools will not have to face these tough situations. Atlanta Student Aid, Inc. offers work-shops, program/management reviews, and assistance with all types of concerns either by phone, E-mail, or on site.
